Our young classes are aimed at those aged 7-14 years who are keen to develop their skills, strength, flexibility and confidence in an aerial art form.
Aerial Silks is a great way of learning and building on a new skill that is both fun and exciting to learn, as well as gaining personal confidence, staying healthy and strong and undertaking a skill that requires discipline and commitment.
Foundation & Basics
This class is for beginners or those with some experience (and would call themselves an improver). The class begins with warm-up and conditioning, followed by learning a variety of climbs and poses with a focus on precision and skills progression. This beginner and improver session helps build the foundation and building blocks for young people to progress to the next level of training, instilling a good strong foundation in a safe and structured fashion.
Technique & Tricks
This class is aimed at those with more experience who would describe themselves as improver or intermediate level. The class begins with a warm up and conditioning session, followed by increasing vocabulary in climbs, poses, drops and tricks, with a focus on technique to build efficiency and instill the building blocks of a professional performer. We also look at transitions, precision and building routines. The session finishes with a flexibility based warm down.
RoguePlay have broken down the movements into levels so young people are able to chart their progress and gain a certificate at the end of each level. There are even showcase opportunities for friends and parents to celebrate their development.
Classes are weekly and can be booked as a block of sessions or individually. All RoguePlay's trainers are practicing professionals and we take safety very seriously. Crash mats and manual spotting techniques are always used.
What to wear: Tight fitting clothing that covers the backs of knees as well as a top that covers armpits. Leggings are perfect for the girls and jogging bottoms for the boys.
No zips or jewellery please.
