Thanks to the Birmingham City Council we can go ahead with TILT, which comprises community and family friendly performances, a masterclass programme, young people's work and an amazing highlight show (whoops I let that slip, this show is actually still funding dependent), all hosted from RoguePlay's trusty studio;West Midlands Creation Centre, and in partnership with Birmingham Rep.
We love aerial and physical theatre right? And there are amazing aerial dance and physical festivals all over the shop so why hasn't Birmingham got a dedicated one? Don't worry, we're on it!
Plus, there will an evening of young people's aerial and physical theatre held in the studio at Birmingham Rep, and performances at WMCC fromPaper Doll Militiaand Thimble Theatre.
There'll be some free community work outdoors and the super exciting highlight show in Centenary Sq (keep all your fingers and toes crossed for the funding to come through for this one......trust me, it's going to be rogue-a-licious! )
So, why TILT? Well, RoguePlay's work is what we call Highly Physical Theatre. It's a delicate balance between aerial and circus, and physical theatre, and it's super important to us that this Festival reflects that. It should cross boundaries, it should be the alpha and the omega of aerial theatre, it should disturb your inner peace and challenge you to new heights! (get it?!?) So we thought we'd TILT your perspective, challenge your balance a little, stir things up in Birmingham...you know, Rogue style.
It's set to be awesome but there's still a huge amount to do. We're looking for business sponsors, however large or however small, so if you think you could sponsor us then please get in touch! There's all kinds of great incentives, like logo representation, brochure space, flag banners......etc (you getthe idea), so if you think your business can help and benefit, thengive us a shout, we'd love to talk to you.
If you want to come, then the class programme and sign ups will be up very soon, but in the meantime why notdrop us an e mail to let us know you're interested in coming and we'll make sure all the stuff and things comes your way.
Otherwise, sign up to the newsletter, keep an eye on this blog, follow us on facebook, twitter, linked in, instagram, snappy chappy and flippy flop (I made those last two up, please don't google them!). Tell people about it and get involved!
