NOT JUST FOR SCHOOLS! YOUNG ACTORS, ADULT ACTORS AND YOUNG CREATIVE WRITERS
We offer Physical Theatre, Drama, Creative Writing, Comedy Improvisation and Capoeira in primary, secondary, college and and in-house classes. We also offer performances and residencies.
SCHOOL/COLLEGE:
Physical Theatre (Secondary and College only): Working with emotion, improvisation, physical and vocal exploration of text. Discover things about the performer, the performer's body and the development of performative material.
Drama (Primary): With guidance, the children can develop characters, storyline, dialogue, mask and costume.
Creative Writing: Script construction, character development, language and rhythm. Everything to get the creative juices flowing and the pen on the paper.
Comedy Improvisation: A great workshop for improving confidence, spontaneity and group dynamics, all through a range of fun theatrical games.
Capoeira: Led by Contra Mestre Israel from Grupo Renascer, Capoeira is a Brazilian art form involving defense (escapes), offense (kicks) and acrobatics. Great for fitness and co-ordination, Capoeira is a good way of engaging the boys in particular in a new art form.
Spoken Word: Writing and performing as a form of self-expression, exploring stories and issues, as well as performance delivery through rhythm, pace and rhyme. The workshop brings the word from the page, culminating in performance of student's compositions
Shakespeare Workshops: RoguePlay can offer two excellent Shakespeare workshops run by facilitators with extensive experience in performing his works for all ages and in various settings, most notable his Birthplace in Stratford. The first is based around specific plays on the syllabus with an adapted performance based around key scenes. We also offer a general workshop tackling his language and how to pick out themes which are relevant to modern times. Both involve the participants getting actively involved in directing and performing Shakespeare's plays and the duration and key stage level can be adapted to suit.
Performances.
